INNOVATION IN DESIGN

 

SmartHeat Pty Ltd is an innovative Australian company utilising low energy technology for heating and cooling solutions. SmartHeat specialises in: In slab heating and
cooling - fan coil units - air handling units - mechanical plumbing - thermal storage - heat 
exchange - heat recovery systems - heat pump technology - heat recovery ventilators - pool and spa heating. 

 

 

SmartHeat are leaders in the hydronic heating and cooling market, with a substantial record of high end residential, civic, commercial and industrial projects.

Working from supplied systems such as TriGen and CoGen or Gas boilers, Heat Pumps, Solar and combination systems SmartHeat are able
to maximise the efficiencies of any given system while maintaining the capacity to meet high demands.

 

 

To this end SmartHeat have an industry leading training program. SmartHeat technical staff are trained in Australia and overseas at facilities in Europe
and Asia to ensure they are fully conversant with the latest changes in technology.

 

SmartHeat’s in-house engineers produce detailed workshop drawings and specifications for integration with architectural and engineering drawings.

 

From this base, SmartHeat are able to maintain a high level of project management from which they can liaise with architects,
owners, engineers, builders and developers to reach a common
understanding of expectations and outcomes.
SmartHeat remain current
with the National Construction Code and ensure work
done is compliant.

INSLAB CONCOURSE HEATING -  SUPPLY HHW TO AHU - SUPPLY DHW -
HEAT TWO CIVIC POOLS

From a field of 20 solar evacuated tubes, 5 SH500 I Thermal Storage tanks (2,500 litres) capture the heated water with the stored
temperature regulated by 10 Bosch 32 natural gas boilers.

 

The heated water is distributed to the underfloor hydronic heating system.

 

There is a hot supply to the AHU which supplies the facilities air conditioning system. The facilities showers and basins are heated
with the supplied hot water, while the civic pools are heated from plate heat exchangers fitted to the storage tanks.

 

This Central Energy Plant (CEP) is designed to maintain the pool temperatures and conditioned spaces at the specified temperatures,
while ensuring the Domestic Hot Water
supply and UFH system operate at full demand.

 HAWKESBURY COUNCIL OASIS AQUATIC CENTRE

The Oasis Aquatic centre at Hawkesbury was completed and commissioned in 2012 The Council required the
aquatic centre hot water requirement to be heated by primary solar contributors with secondary gas boosters.

INSLAB HYDRONIC HEATING - UNDER TIMBER FLOOR HYDRONIC HEATING - DOMESTIC HOT WATER - POOL HEATING

 

 

 

From a primary heating source comprising 20 arrays of ‘U Pipe” solar evacuated tubes, 3 SH5001 thermal
storage tank collect 1,500 litres of heated water regulated by 3 Bosch 32 condensing gas boilers.

 

 

The system produces heated water to heat the lower two levels of inslab heating, upper two levels of under timber floor heating, 
2 ring mains with 13 showers and a 120,000 litre swimming pool.

 

 

Control of the underfloor heating system zones is brought back to a central location with thermostats housed in the plant area.
The system is integrated with the house BMS system.

The system installed at Duntroon Royal Military Academy supplies all of the commercial hot water requirements for the facility.

 

The solar field is the primary heat source with heated water stored in the thermal storage tanks. Natural gas regulation maintains

Commissioned in 2014, the system utilises a solar preheat system to supply the domestic hot water to the new medical facility.

The solar field heats 2,000 litres of primary hot water supply which then passes through a further 2,000 litres of thermal storage where the temperature of the water is raised to the required level before being drawn to the ring main system.

Commissioned in 2013, the system utilises a solar preheat system to supply the domestic hot water and space heating through two levels
of hydronic pipework to the new medical facility.

The solar field heats the primary hot water supply contained within a thermal storage tank. A Natural Gas boiler (Bosch) regulates the water
temperature. Hot water is drawn from the system for the facilities domestic hot water supply and hydronic heating system.

The East Village complex derives heated and chilled water from a Tri Generation system with which SmartHeat integrated reticulating pipework
and in sub plantrooms.

 

East Village houses 5 levels of retail and commercial space including the Virgin Active fitness centre, Audi Service
Centre, multiple retail outlets, an expansive Yum Cha Restaurant, medical centre and various office suites.

 

Smartheat designed and installed chilled and hot water mechanical plumbing throughout the structure, including plantrooms, pump stations,
heat exchangers and energy meters to service the Fan Coil Units, Air Handling Units, Domestic Hot Water and Under Floor heating and Chilling Systems.

The Audi service centre boasts 1,600 sq meters of in slab heating and cooling designed and installed by Smartheat.

Reticulating pipework with this integrate with TriGen plant room for the supply of heated and chilled water to the following

• 1,600 sqm of in slab heating and cooling system for Audi service centre.

• Supply to pool and spa heating, fan coil units and air handling units for Virgin Active personal fitness centre

• Supply to all fan coil and air handling units in the retail and mezzanine levels

• Supply regulating gas system from energy reclaim hot water HEX

• Integrate pipework with controls for BMS system

• Insulation and cladding of all chilled and hot water pipework

 

 

 

 

 

AUDI  - EAST VILLAGE ZETLAND

 

TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN

Smartheat designed and constructed a state of the art hydronic heating and cooling system at the
Audi Service Work Shop East Village Zetland.

Which involved the laying over1600sqm of hydronic piping which was used to control the ambient air
temperature of the complex to a cool and comfortable 26°c during the spring and summer and in the
colder months of the year a warm 22°c.
